Leaving aside for the present the unlikelihood of the legislature actually legislating a change in the law have, you any thoughts on what might be done to prevent such abuses?  There is always vote the rascals out, which happens from time to time, if rarely.

Tonight I attended a testimonail for Senator Marchi put on by the Staten Island Zoo. He certainly is the quintessential ethical legislator to my mind. R.M.

Concerning the state government in Albany and its entrenched culture of corruption and sleaze, I think the Joker said it best in the first Batman film: "What this town needs is an enema."

Why do you think that Spitzer will do anything to clean up Albany? His treatment of McCall in the Graso mess should not give you any hope for an aperitif, let alone a full meal. My guess is that you will starve. Thanks for your commentary. I find it very enlightening and extremely well written. P.S.P.

The worst part of the lobbying information rules are that lawyers and law firms do not report all the "lobbying " monies they receive from their clients. They take part of their 'fees'  as legal fees.

Most important ,and I've been saying this for years now is that Albany resembles Rome during its worst -end days.   The only difference being that people don't leave the presence of Bruno and Silver walking backwards, facing them and scraping their noses on the ground as they leave their presence.
