Vanity Fair...

As you know, we have devoted a lot of space since Day One - Everything Changes to the travails of Governor Spitzer, many of which have been self-imposed. On the other hand, he is trying to change Albany and the permanent government is unsympathetic to disclosure and to reform.
An excellent article on the governor's first year has just been posted on the Vanity Fair website. It was written by David Margolick, contributing editor of VF and former legal reporter for the New York Times.
Margolick's account of events is fair and balanced, and explains the personal and political factors behind the series of disputes in which the governor has been involved. It is too long for you to read in most offices, so we suggest you print it out and take it home, or better still, buy Vanity Fair this month.
Tonight...
Tonight, November 29, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., we will hold a New York Civic fundraiser. Mayor Koch will speak. The event is practically sold out, but if anyone intensely wants to visit an elegant New York home, nibble, and at the same time make a contribution to good government, call Michael (Bison) Oliva at 212-564-4441.
